Tampere, de l'usine à la villeTampere, from mill to city.
The “Finnish Manchester” grew out of the mills by the rapids: Finlayson and Tampella, both now converted. Around them the city was built in a century, from the National Romanticism of the cathedral to the functionalism of the station and the organic forms of Reima and Raili Pietilä.
